Our mock trials are a powerful reminder of what can happen when safety standards slip.

The impact on those injured, their families, the accused, and also witnesses is brought home during our mock trials. Many delegates walk away determined never to be in that position themselves.

We can draft a bespoke mock trial that is based on a scenario of your choice. We will refer to your policies and procedures and arrange the facts around the key issues your organisation is aiming to address. We will drive home the key messages that you would like us to focus on.

As an alternative, we can deliver one of our 'off-the-shelf' mock trials, which are very popular and are a more cost effective alternative to drafting a new mock trial, tailored for you.

Please speak to us about the mock trial scenario you wish to run as we may have other mock trial scripts in production, ready to add to our 'off-the-shelf' collection.

Venues
We know of many venues that are perfect to host a mock trial event. We will let you know where we have presented mock trials previously, which may help you find your perfect venue for the event

Actors

We recommend engaging actors to play the roles of the defendants and witnesses, which we can arrange. You may already know some budding actors, in which case, we can provide scripts and guidance on how to act the part.

Our off-the-shelf Mock Trials
Underground Cable Strike
A worker is fatally injured when an electricity cable is struck by a digger during excavation works. We follow the prosecution of the company in court as well as a senior manager and a worker.

Senior Leadership Failings

A contractor falls during works to fix your leaking roof. In this trial we consider alleged failings around contractor selection and management which results in the company charged with Corporate Manslaughter and two Directors in the dock.

Unguarded machinery

An employee suffers an amputation when he accesses moving parts of a machine. We learn that a guard had been removed some time earlier.
We follow the prosecution of the company and a manager in this case.

Pedestrian / Vehicle Segregation

A worker walks behind a moving vehicle which is being reversed without a banksman. We consider whether the company is guilty of a Health & Safety offence, and whether the site manager is also guilty in his personal capacity.

Food Safety

A person suffers anaphylactic shock as a result of a severe allergy after eating food served by you. The person sadly dies in hospital. We look at how the company is prosecuted together with a senior manager and you get to decide whether they are guilty.

Choking in Care Premises

A service user sadly choked in your service having been left alone whilst eating their meal (against the recommendations of the SALT team). We observe the prosecution of two a care workers in relation to the alleged failings that caused the incident.
